Forest Bathing at Mill Ridge Park

  • Mill Ridge Park 12944 Old Hickory Boulevard Nashville, TN, 37013 United States (map)

Dig into your senses, play, and explore with a guided forest bathing walk on Saturday, June 3rd at 19:00 am. Forest Therapy, based on the Japanese practice of “shinrinyoku,” or “forest bathing,” is a guided nature connection experience. Through simple sensory activities, participants slow down and engage with the landscape in a new way, engaging the body and refreshing the mind. This research-based practice facilitates connection with the earth, with the self, and with others and has been shown to increase physical and mental well-being.

We gather together multiple times throughout the walk to share our noticing and practice deep listening. Our guide, Sarah Champion from Forest Therapy Nashville, is available for any accommodations that ensure you feel comfortable and safe throughout our walk. Come dressed comfortably with shoes you don't mind getting dirty and a water bottle if you wish.

For more information and to register, please contact katherine@southeastpark.org. Space is limited. A $10 donation is suggested.

For this activity, participants will meet using the provided coordinates or link below, as this is the location for the newly established Crossings Trailhead (located near Wirtgen Corp). There will be no restroom facility onsite. Expect to see three yellow flags and six orange cones indicating the parking area in a gravel lot.
